Bron Breakker Addresses His Father’s Homophobic Comments Toward Gisele Shaw
– ADVERTISMENT –

Some of you may recall that Bron Breakker’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner, was embroiled in controversy over WrestleMania 38 weekend after he appeared at the WrestleCon convention and hurled transphobic comments toward Gisele Shaw.

Multiple people at the convention saw Steiner verbally assaulting Shaw, calling her a “man,” “a piece of trash,” “filth,” and more. Steiner was later sent home and wasn’t allowed back for the second day of the convention. The incident took place on International Transgender Day of Visibility, and Steiner has refused to apologize for his comments to this day.

During a recent appearance on the “Under the Ring” podcast, Breakker briefly addressed his father’s comments. When asked how he felt about the situation, Breakker told Rick Strum the following:

“Yeah, you know, I appreciate the question. I can’t speak for my father, but that’s not a reflection of me and who I am and what I’m about.”

At the time of the incident, Impact Wrestling wound up releasing the following statement in support of Shaw:

“IMPACT Wrestling stands in full support of @GiseleShaw08 and the LGBTQ+ community. We are saddened by the incident Friday afternoon at Wrestlecon in Los Angeles and hope everyone can learn and be better from it.

Thank you to the millions worldwide who have read Gisele’s statement and showed full support for her. Particular thanks go to the organizing staff of Wrestlecon as well as the IMPACT roster and crew who all handled an ugly situation with the utmost professionalism.”
