Count Brody King as someone who wants to see Ring of Honor get in on all the fun with the “Forbidden Door.”
King recently appeared on The Wrestling Inc. Daily and explained that he doesn’t likethe term “forbidden door” because professional wrestling is all about giving the fans what they want, and denying them dream matches due to promotional boundaries is a disservice. He also named some potential crossover matches, such as a clash between Jay Lethal and Jon Moxley, that he’d like to see.
“I hope for complete crossover through all brands,” said King. “I always say that I hate the term ‘the forbidden door’ because we are in a fan service business, and keeping Jon Moxley from wrestling Jay Lethal is doing a disservice to the fans. I feel like I would love to go to AEW and wrestle Miro or Darby Allin, or whoever they would have me, just to have this cross promotion, it’s healthy for everybody.
“And you know, I got to wrestle the Good Brothers on New Japan Strong, so there you had this weird AEW/IMPACT/Ring of Honor/New Japan like full crossover, which was really cool, and yeah, I would love to see more of that.”
King also pitched the idea of seeing ROH “feud” with promotions like Game Changer Wrestling or Pro Wrestling Guerrilla to maximize this crossover that lets everyone “have a good time.”
“I would also love to see maybe Ring of Honor feuding with I don’t know, GCW or PWG or these other bigger indy promotions as well,” said King. “I mean I feel like there’s so much money left on the table with saying, ‘Oh we don’t work with that person or that person.’ It’s like who cares? Let the one big company that we’re not gonna name be that person that doesn’t want to play with anyone, and let the rest of us have a good time.”
