Speculation has been mounting that Shane McMahon might make a switch to AEW, but a stern initiation might be on the cards from the House of Black’s Brody King if he does make the move.
In the summer, a meeting reportedly took place between McMahon and AEW President Tony Khan, where it’s believed that potential prospects were explored.
A photo of the meeting, taken by Mercedes Mone, has fuelled rumors of McMahon making a transition to AEW, more than a year after his most recent WWE appearance.
On a fresh episode of the “Wrestle Binge” podcast, King speculated on the possibility of McMahon joining the AEW team. He expressed,
“Whether it be good or bad, it would definitely get people talking. Shane has always been someone that’s kind of gone by his own drum. He never had to be the wrestler he was—he never had to be a wrestler at all, and he did. You could tell that he definitely has a passion for pro wrestling.”
McMahon’s rewind-worthy, bold wrestling style did not go unnoticed by King, who gave him credit for these unforgettable on-screen moments, despite no obligation to perform such acts. He further added,
“It’s easy to be the son of a rich guy, but to do the death-defying things he did and get in the ring with other pro wrestlers—that speaks a whole other volume to his character and him as a person.”
King, when probed about a potential face-off with McMahon, boldly predicted that Shane would “get broken in half.”
