A new, yet unofficial, match is on the horizon for AEW All In 2024 at Wembley Stadium. Mercedes Moné’s AEW TBS Championship is under threat as Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D has thrown down the gauntlet.
During the July 3, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, Baker announced her return after a brief hiatus and set her sights on Moné’s championship. She shared that her absence was due to a transient ischemic attack—similar to a mini-stroke—requiring a period of rest and recovery. Now healed and cleared to compete, the dental surgeon turned pro-wrestler, has declared Moné to be her next target.
Moné, fresh from her victory against Stephanie Vaquer during AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door event, took to the stage to boast about her recent win – a title that saw her become a double champion, also securing the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship. But her celebration swiftly turned into a verbal battle with Baker, who promptly challenged her for the upcoming All In event.
Unimpressed by Baker’s challenge, Moné instructed her to wait her turn. A defiant Baker retorted, “Bitch, what line?” puting Moné on notice. Moné concluded the promo by warning, “There’s a price to pay when you mess with Mercedes Moné”, thus acknowledging the challenge.
