Thunder Rosa and Britt Baker made history with their violent unsanctioned lights out match on the “St. Patrick’s Day Slam” edition of AEW Dynamite.

After the unforgettable bout, Baker appeared on “Oral Sessions with Renée Paquette”, and she discussed the bout in extensive detail.

First, she explained how AEW World Champion Kenny Omega helped calm her nerves beforehand.

“I was so nervous,” said Baker. “I remember I was sitting in the back on a road case, tying my boots up, just in my own head, freaking out, and I feel like Kenny can sense when I’m about to lose it because he always finds me and has his own way of calming me down.

“It’s a very like normal conversation. And he just sat to me, I was tying my boots on and I feel like he prepared me for war. Just telling me this is a really special night and you’re perfect for this, Britt. And it’s so cool because Kenny used to be one of my favorite wrestlers ever, like New Japan Kenny, I was like fan girl so now he’s preparing me for war.”

Baker also named several influential figures in wrestling, including WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, who reached out to her after the match.

“Drew McIntyre messaged me, I was really excited about that,” said Baker. “There were so many people that had just sent, like Trent Seven, who I think is one of the funniest people on the planet, messaged me, I had a nice message with the other Role Model in wrestling, Bayley, one of my favorites, I literally am a fan girl for her.

“It was really cool. Candice LeRae, who helped train me, she was like a hardcore legend in her indie days. Mick Foley [also] loved it. He was very complimentary of the match.”

Baker also reflected on various aspects of the match itself, the planning that went into it, and the memorable image of her bleeding profusely during the match.

Before the lights out match, Baker spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. In addition to her then-upcoming match with Rosa, Baker described how Reba, or Rebel, has been a crucial part of her success in AEW:

“She, honestly, she really is the peanut butter to my jelly. Reba, I’ve said it 100 times, she’s one of the most passionate females, when it comes to professional wrestling. She loves it. She eats, breathes and sleeps it just as much as I do, and this is much more than a deserved opportunity for her,” Baker said, “because she should have been the star of TV for a long time now.”
