In a noteworthy development, Nicole Garcia, widely known as Nikki Bella from WWE fame, has reportedly petitioned for a legal dissolution of her marriage to Artem Chigvintsev this past week. The news arrives hot on the heels of Chigvintsev’s recent brush with the law in relation to an accusation of domestic violence.
Concerning the day of August 29 stands as a pivotal point in this narrative, as this was when Chigvintsev was taken into custody for alleged felony-level domestic battery charged against a partner. Surprisingly, this is the same day that has been earmarked as the official time the duo decided to part ways.
Initially, Artem beckoned the 911 emergency services for medical help, however, he soon retracted his plea. Nevertheless, law enforcement officials paid a visit and took him under their hold. While official charges have not yet been leveled against him, the matter has been passed for consideration to the district attorney by the Napa County Sheriff.
Nikki’s transition to split from her husband didn’t come as a surprise. Signs of trouble in paradise were already noticeable as she had been spotted not wearing her wedding band and had started seeking legal counsel prior to filing for the divorce.
Carlos Villatoro, the spokesperson for the Napa County District Attorney’s office, disclosed that they are in the process of scrutinizing the case. However, no clear decision concerning Artem’s charges has been finalized yet.
Entertainment Tonight revealed that Nikki’s sister, Brie Garcia, better known as Brie Bella, has expressed immense worry about her sister and her nephew, Matteo. She stated emphatically that she does not condone any form of violence. Nikki has reportedly been left feeling “scared and rattled” by the supposed assault.
The information has also surfaced that Artem has been dwelling at the residence of a friend, as opposed to his family home. Nikki is at present staying at their familial home with their 4-year-old son, Matteo. Nikki’s aspiration is to acquire full legal custody of Matteo, although she seems open to the idea of granting her husband rights to visit him.
As of now, the court date for Chigvintsev’s arraignment is scheduled for November 4.
