In the latest episode of their “Nikki & Brie Show” podcast, Brie Garcia shared her behind-the-scenes experience at a recent All Elite Wrestling (AEW) event, where she took her son Buddy. She believes without a doubt that her son is destined to follow in the family footsteps and become a wrestler one day.
Brie excitedly shared, “When we were backstage, I absolutely have no doubt that Buddy is going to grow up and be a wrestler. The way he was behaving, his whole energy, it was like he was meant to be there. At times, I would say, ‘Mommy is here.’ But he would just run away from me and try to wrestle with everyone in sight. He was so lively and cheerful, climbing up the guys, holding their hands, and wanting to engage in fun activities with them. He was super charged.”
In another podcast episode, this one from “Busted Open Radio”, Dave Prazak dived into a discussion about Nigel McGuinness’ yearning for one last wrestling match against Bryan Danielson. This was fuelled by the AEW/ROH broadcaster’s desire to find some resolution and closure.
Assuming Danielson is medically cleared, the much-anticipated bout will take place on Wednesday at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.
In Prazak’s words, “There was some kind of magic whenever Danielson and McGuinness squared off in the ring against each other. It happened multiple times during the ROH era. They used to take turns winning, and I know that Nigel feels like he has to prove a point, that he needs to find some closure to his wrestling career by having one more showdown with Bryan Danielson, to prove that he is superior to the American Dragon. From my perspective, I don’t think Nigel really has anything more to prove. He has demonstrated time and again that he’s on the same level as Danielson and was even better on several occasions. But then again, those were the days, almost fifteen years ago. My hope for him is that he finds the closure he seeks in the upcoming match at Arthur Ashe this week.”
