Brian Pillman Jr. Set To Make AEW Dark Debut, Update On MLW Status

All Elite Wrestling revealed the full lineup for AEW Dark this week and included on the card will be Brian Pillman Jr. battling Shawn Spears.
This will be the first time Pillman is in an AEW ring since he participated in the battle royal at Double or Nothing last year. Pillman was seen backstage in his ring gear last Wednesday during AEW Dynamite and was also spotted in the crowd. He tweeted out a photo of himself on stage that further fueled speculation that Pillman might be joining AEW.
It has been confirmed by ProWrestling.net that Pillman Jr. is in fact still under contract with MLW. Pillman signed his MLW deal before AEW was launched last year. This means that due to the terms of that contract, he is allowed to work for AEW in addition to MLW. MLW has first dibs to book him whenever there are conflicting dates in the future.
MLW is currently not holding any shows or matches due to the coronavirus pandemic. Pillman Jr. is said to be the only superstar working under one of these ‘special/older’ contracts. Check out the complete lineup for this week’s AEW Dark below.
