Brian Kendrick Says His Attitude Issues Cost Him Dearly In WWE

It wasn’t Brian Kendrick’s size that would prove detrimental to the former Cruiserweight Champion during his time with WWE.

Kendrick first signed a contract with WWE in 2002 and would make returns to the promotion in 2005 and 2014.

Speaking to “In the Room,” Kendrick refuted the idea that his size was the biggest reason his career not going further as part of WWE. He added,

“The deciding factor was my attitude, my lack of hard work, opportunities that I screwed up. I mean, they don’t know what it is they’re looking for until they get it, whether it comes in the form of The Rock or John Cena or Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan or Kofi Kingston. They don’t know what form it’s going to come in.

“Years ago I acted really foolish and hopefully matured since then. It’s not the reason I didn’t become a superstar. It has nothing to do with my height. It has to do with my lack of having what it takes.”

Kendrick has worked as a backstage producer on a part-time basis in recent years and has worked closely with Ronda Rousey to produce her matches.
