On a recent episode of “The Ariel Helwani” podcast, wrestling legend Bret Hart shared his views on subjects including Vince McMahon’s exit from WWE, Hulk Hogan’s remarks about him, and other related topics.
Here are some key points from Bret Hart’s podcast discussion:
When asked if he ever imagined a period when McMahon wouldn’t be at the helm of WWE, he responded, “No. Although he was exceptional in terms of ideas and creativity – making him a unique personality, I believe he managed things in a somewhat questionable manner. He didn’t seem to genuinely care about the craft. I often reflect on how he treated me. In my mind, I was his finest performer, but in the end, I was casually discarded. ‘Move him out. He’s finished.’ Despite all the remarkable contributions Vince made to wrestling, he also introduced a substantial amount of negative and corrupt thinking to the sport. It’s a little tricky to explain, but there seems to be a bit more integrity now, both in who’s rising through the ranks – it’s based on talent, not just Vince’s preferences.”
Regarding Hulk Hogan’s remarks about him, Hart stated, “A few months ago, I came across a comment Hulk Hogan made about me. He asserted, ‘The issue with Bret Hart is he genuinely believes he was the greatest wrestler ever.’ To which my response was a candid and thoughtful, ‘Yeah. Possibly.’ This might be the most honest thing he’s ever said about me.”
Video content from the podcast episode was also posted, which included Bret Hart, Yoel Romero, Ryan Bader, Eddie Hall, and Jessica Eye.
