Bret hart recently revealed that his rapport with WWE has improved significantly since Vince McMahon stepped down.
Engaged in a discussion with “Rosenberg Wrestling,” Hart was questioned about the present state of his relationship with WWE, following McMahon’s separation in January 2024. This came in the wake of serious accusations from Janel Grant that included sexual assault, physical abuse, and involvement in sex trafficking. Hart mentioned that he sensed a different, more uplifting atmosphere without McMahon, hinting at a newfound respect and appreciation by the company, which was a substantial shift from his past experiences. In his words,
“I’ll be forthright, I experience a certain level of respect now. It appears people are considering, possibly Bret Hart has been correct all along. I’ve always felt slightly ostracized and somewhat penalized for all that occurred. What else do people anticipate? I struck the boss and knocked him down in the locker room. So, there’s always been this unpleasant stain, and possibly it is still there. It’s not something you can easily shake off, you know, I don’t imagine Wayne Gretzky would do something like that.”
Hart extended his thoughts, saying, “There was always this lingering feeling that I was less valued, perhaps distrusted – as if I wasn’t taken advantage of as much as I could have or should have been. In the bottom of my heart, I have no regrets about the choices I made. I acted right that day, and now I sense a kind of resurgence, or a certain form of admiration, primarily for my work ethic, the determination I endorsed, and my overall contribution to the business.”
