Brandi Rhodes is all about inclusivity in her wrestling. Talking with Digital Spy, she admitted that she’s felt awkward in the past as a female in the wrestling industry, and she doesn’t want that to be the case going forward in AEW. That’s where AEW Heels comes in.

[Heels] is going to be a great place for women who love wrestling to just be themselves, enjoy it together, make connections, and learn things from each other. It’s just exciting to be the very beginning of it.

Currently, the Heels landing page on AEW’s website asks for some basic information to subscribe to the community, but Brandi has big plans for the online-focused entity.

It’s a great spot for open discussion. For being able to find out and target what are some of the things that women feel like they are missing as fans.

Maybe they want to know about what it’s like to be a female inside of the industry, these are all things that we’ve covered in a couple of quick topics in the past couple of months, but this is something we’re planning on doing more of going forward. So we will cover the entire landscape.

Speaking of inclusivity and equality, Digital Spy also breeches the subject of intergender wrestling. AEW has broadcast one match of this type on AEW Dark, but Brandi feels like it will take a significant effort to do the same thing on Dynamite.

I understand both sides of the coin with intergender wrestling. I’ve done intergender wrestling and I’ve had fun with it and enjoyed it but I do see the purpose of having the separate divisions.

I do see where there is on national television sometimes a little bit of a different blurring of the line, you know if you’re having a casual audience watching wrestling that may not understand the nuances of intergender sports.
