Brandi Rhodes signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2011 until she asked for her release in 2014, where she was turned into a ring announcer. In 2016, she left WWE alongside her husband, Cody Rhodes, where she wrestled on the indy scene, Impact Wrestling, and ROH.
After taking some time off due to her pregnancy with her first daughter, Brandi returned to the ring early in 2022 under the AEW banner.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Brandi stated that she has retired as a wrestler.
“You know, not as active competitor, for sure. [Asked whether she has retired as a wrestler.] Yeah, I mean, it was really anticlimactic, but yes, I did. I just said, you know what, okay. Well, we’re either gonna do this the Becky Lynch/Seth Rollins way, and they are amazing for doing it because I can’t. It just was too hard. Well, not too hard, but just something that I didn’t think would be the best for the family.
“So we’ve gone a different route, and I’ve started business ventures on my own. He’s doing his thing, and we’re just doing a couple of different things.”
