A WWE vignette for ‘Rhodes Industries’ that never made it to TV came together thanks to Paul Heyman, Brandi Rhodes has revealed.

The vignette, which has since leaked online, was filmed during Cody Rhodes’ first tenure with WWE and had the future AEW EVP as a cocky industrialist.

Speaking on “Ring the Belle,” Brandi spoke about the vignette and credited Paul Heyman as the “brainchild” behind the idea. He said,

“How apropos that Paul Heyman designs this video. So Paul Heyman was the brainchild behind this, and Paul Heyman was also very, very influential in trying to get me seen as something other than a ring announcer because I was in the role for four or five years. It’s very hard to turn your attention, especially when you have new talent coming in and all this other stuff you’re looking at.

‘Why does the ring announcer now want to do something else?’ You know, so this was part of kind of the ploy to get them to say, ‘Hey, she’s got character work, she’s got promo [ability], she can do these other things. He was super influential and helpful in that.”

Rhodes and Brandi (Eden in WWE) would never be featured together in WWE and would have to wait until the pair joined Impact Wrestling to be used as a couple.

In a recent interview, Brandi Rhodes, the Chief Brand Officer of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), revealed that a WWE vignette for ‘Rhodes Industries’ was created but never made it to TV. The vignette, which has since leaked online, was filmed during Cody Rhodes’ first tenure with WWE and featured him as a cocky industrialist.

Brandi credited Paul Heyman, a renowned wrestling personality and creative genius, as the “brainchild” behind the idea. Heyman, who is known for his innovative storytelling and character development, played a significant role in trying to showcase Brandi as more than just a ring announcer. Brandi had been in the role for four to five years, and it was challenging to shift the audience’s perception of her.

The purpose of the vignette was to demonstrate Brandi’s character work and promo abilities, showcasing her versatility beyond the ring announcer role. Heyman’s influence and support were instrumental in attempting to change the perception of Brandi within the company. However, despite their efforts, Rhodes and Brandi (known as Eden in WWE) were never featured together in WWE.

It wasn’t until Cody and Brandi joined Impact Wrestling that they were finally able to work together as a couple on-screen. The couple has since found success in AEW, with Cody serving as an executive vice president and Brandi taking on various roles, including being an in-ring performer and leading the women’s division.

The leaked vignette serves as a reminder of the creative ideas that often go unseen or unused in the wrestling industry. It also highlights the influence and impact that individuals like Paul Heyman can have on shaping the careers of wrestlers and helping them explore new opportunities within the industry.
