On a recent episode of the “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T, a WWE Hall of Famer, shared his views concerning the current state of the NXT’s women division.
Below are some key takeaways from the podcast:
Speaking about the WWE LFG show, Booker T commented: “We’re looking at a system where at the end of the day, it’s about which team comes out strongest. Whose team is the best-prepared, who imparts the most industry knowledge to their team within a given time frame. This business is unique in its duality – it can be self-centered, yet at the same time, it can be selfless. The essence of this business has a lot to do with the collective effort, despite the innate drive to win. My team, for instance, needs to uplift everyone to their highest possible standard.
I believe at the end of the day, it comes down to an understanding of the roots of the industry and what it was initially established on. That involves every member recognizing their role at a specific moment in time. I feel that’s the key message this show aims to convey more than anything else. It allows fans a sneak peek behind the scenes – the rigors, the pressure and the competitive spirit that can either motivate, bend, or sometimes break one. There are many layers to it. And that’s the reason I absolutely love it.”
Addressing the WWE NXT’s women’s division, he said: “The ladies, simply put, are killing it. They deserve recognition for the impressive work they’re currently doing. I stand by my belief that NXT’s women’s division has the most solid roster in wrestling today. Roxanne Perez who is the champion isn’t the main reason, because she wasn’t even present at the show. The women in NXT at the moment are setting the bar high, unquestionably making them the best in the business today.”
