On an episode of his podcast, “Hall of Fame”, wrestling legend Booker T weighed in on WWE’s decision to commemorate the Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart clash at WrestleMania 13 as a WWE Hall of Fame Immortal Moment.
Here are some standout points from the podcast:
Speaking on the move to enshrine the Steve Austin vs Bret Hart WrestleMania 13 face-off into the Hall of Fame, Booker T said: “Truthfully, it’s not exactly a Hall of Fame material. That’s a match-up. A ring seems excessive for that. It’s only a match, a plaque or a similar honour would suffice. You don’t bestow a ring for it. Simply put, reality check. You get a plaque… Should it take place, showcasing both these stalwarts on stage once more, even if for a few minutes recreation of that match. Deep analysis isn’t required. But the shared stage for that flash from the past, I concur. Those are moments that you seize and they perpetuate, those moments like that. So, yup, to witness those two icons on stage once more reminiscing? Absolutely, I can envisage that without a doubt.”
Regarding the triple threat with CM Punk, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns being the star attraction of WrestleMania Night 1, he opined: “I’m genuinely optimistic that WrestleMania is set to be yet another extravaganza. Can’t precisely predict the format or event flow as per match sequence. But, I have a hunch it’s going to set the arena on fire. The Cody-Cena angle seems to have caught everyone’s attention. Patiently waiting to watch the drama unfold. And finally, CM Punk getting the spotlight, it’s awesome. Just a little advice, Punk. Ensure to stay fit, you know? We’ve got few days remaining. Please, don’t injure yourself.”
