After the conclusion of AEW Dynasty 2025, Swerve Strickland made a statement to the crowd in Philadelphia that resonated with intent. With a promise to stand up for representation in wrestling and a direct comment aimed at Booker T, Strickland declared, “F**k Booker T!” The onslaught can be traced back to the ongoing dialogue between Strickland and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
The stir started when Booker T commented that he had experienced justifiable treatment during his twenty-year tenure with WWE. Strickland reacted to this during an interview on “VladTV.” He pointed out a questionable 2005 WWE segment that saw Vince McMahon using a racial slur in the presence of Booker T as evidence contradicting Booker T’s claim.
Booker T responded to Strickland’s comments on his own podcast, “Hall of Fame”. He revealed that he had faced Strickland directly at an event in Richmond, Virginia. Expressing disappointment, he told Strickland, “You got played, bro,” and pointed fingers at VladTV for trying to stir up trouble.
During a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer had more to say:
“Woke up this morning and I wondered, why is my name trending? I see the video of Swerve Strickland… That’s as much as I’m gonna’ say on that issue as far as Swerve Strickland goes.”
He went on to elaborate, “The only one laughing is Vlad TV… Would I ever say anything positive about him, ever again? Probably not. Would I ever put him over as far as being a good worker and perhaps transform this business? I probably won’t do that again. I’ve learned my lesson. I ain’t gonna’ bring a personal beef to my job.”
