On a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recalled his first pay-per-view match in 1993. This historic event took place during WarGames, and saw an epic victory by Davey Boy Smith, Dustin Rhodes, Sting, and The Shockmaster. They successfully defeated the formidable trio of Harlem Heat, Big Van Vader, and Sid Vicious.

Here are some key excerpts from the podcast:

The topic of the unique Iron Survivor Challenge concept came up, to which Booker T commented: “That Iron Survivor Match, it’s a unique concept. Honestly, I wish I would have come up with it. Seriously, I would have loved to think up something that innovative. Similarly with the Heritage Cup match… those two ideas are absolutely mind-blowing. They really push the talent to bring their a-game. That’s an essential part of it.”

Booker T detailed his experience as a first-timer in WarGames: “I was the least experienced guy in that match. I was the rawest, alongside my brother. I felt it was my responsibility to make those guys shine as much as I could… it wasn’t about drawing attention to myself. It was about giving the spotlight to everyone else, for them to shine in the match. Looking back on it, I think I did just that. Because all I really did was bump.”

The podcast also showcased a recap of the Survivor Series, updates from NXT and other news. If you want to watch the full podcast, you can find it embedded below:
