In a recent episode of his show, “Hall of Fame,” wrestling legend Booker T discussed his Reality of Wrestling academy’s involvement with the WWE ID program. Here we summarize a few key points from his talk:

When talking about the Reality of Wrestling’s association with the WWE ID program, Booker T expressed, “I can tell you from the start, I wish I had something like this when I was starting out – a company willing to support me both financially and by easing my entry into the industry. It’s a huge advantage because they let you know instantly if you are good enough. I wouldn’t have made it to this program if they didn’t see potential in me. Back in the early days of my wrestling career, I was holding a regular job six days a week to make ends meet, and pursuing wrestling on the side. So, having a program like this, which provides financial support while allowing time for training, would have made my journey less challenging.”

He further stated, “Today, many independent wrestlers are taking bookings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in three different venues without anyone to mentor them. But with the ID program, they get to be under the guidance of a mentor on a full time basis, and it’s greatly beneficial for someone serious about playing at the next level. This ID program is precisely for the elite guys and girls who aim to embark on this journey.”

On avoiding less credible promoters and wrestling schools, Booker said, “I don’t think the WWE is even concerned about that… there are always going to be critics.”
