In the latest episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, acclaimed wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer, Booker T elaborated on Jordynne Grace’s victory over Roxanne Perez at the 2025 NXT: Roadblock event.
The key points from the podcast episode are outlined below:
Jordynne Grace’s triumph over Roxanne Perez: “Absolutely outstanding match. And what a finish! It speaks to what I constantly emphasize – when you lose, you lose right in the center of the squared circle. I have to salute both Roxanne Perez and Jordynne Grace for their performances. It adorned the grandeur of a main event, akin to a championship bout anywhere in the world. Both the women were spectacular.”
Booker T’s reaction to being named the greatest black wrestler ever by BET: “I am immensely grateful. My career spans over a broad spectrum and I continue to put in relentless efforts to help the upcoming generation navigate their way in this profession. It’s a tumultuous journey, beset with numerous offenses. I strive to enlighten these budding talents on how to establish a lucrative career in this industry and subsequently leverage that fame into other future prospects.
I was never under the impression that I was the world’s best wrestler, but I certainly considered myself an effective performer. The distinction I made was, I always referred to myself as one of the ‘Top Five Performers’, not ‘Top Five Wrestlers.’ [laughs].”
The significance of this achievement for him: “My contributions to wrestling and the recognition from my community are truly gratifying. Throughout my career, I was consistently focused on the future, planning for the subsequent acts and events. I relentlessly worked towards performing before the next audience. The hard work indeed paid off. When I embarked on this journey over three decades ago, my ambition was to align my name with the sport’s greatest wrestlers once I retired. I believe I have realized that dream. I am indebted to BET for this honor and acknowledgement”
