During a fresh episode of the acclaimed “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T, a former professional wrestler himself, was effusive in his praise for WWE NXT rising star, 20-year-old Je’Von Evans.

Key notes from the podcast are outlined below:

Regarding Je’Von Evans, Booker T shared his earnest excitement for Evans’ potential, exclaiming, “Never underestimate Je’Von Evans and Ethan Page in their New York City Street Fight. I am genuinely eager to see how Je’Von Evans will compete. This young man definitely has my attention. He possesses an enormous potential when you think about the trajectory of his career. Only 20 years old, and already so gifted. He’s set to grow even stronger, hone his skills, and deepen his understanding of the sport. Reflecting on his current prowess at such a young age, I wish I were like him. At 20 years old, wrestling wasn’t even in my radar. It’s certainly admirable and a huge responsibility for him handling locker room dynamics.”

Booker T also provided nuggets of wisdom for any young man seeking to foray into wrestling: “The first thing you need to do is find a local gym. Invariably, there will be someone willing to guide you. However, remember that wrestling is not something that will seek you out – you need to actively pursue it. I can attest to this from a personal experience, an email from a fan who wished to join my Reality of Wrestling initiative. He stated all that he could contribute, but all I could respond with was, ‘If it was only that easy.’ I shared this to emphasize the hurdles I went through to find wrestling. I found my first wrestling opportunity at a shabby venue across town. I started with earning a humble for my Sunday performances. But it was my beginning, it was paying off my dues. So, I can confidently tell you that there’s no shortcut. It’s a long journey with no free passes.”
