Booker T On His Feud With Cody Rhodes, Shayna Baszler Rips Ronda Rousey

In a recent appearance on the “MuscleManMalcolm” podcast, Booker T reflected on his 2011 rivalry with Cody Rhodes and spoke about his desire to put the younger talent over.

Booker T and Rhodes feuded over the WWE Intercontinental Championship at the time, with Rhodes retaining the title at TLC that year. Booker T said,

“I feel like I have a huge part in Cody Rhodes success [laughs]. I chose to put Cody Rhodes over. I wanted to work with Cody Rhodes. I just saw a World Championship caliber athlete in Cody Rhodes and I wanted to see him get his just due. Coming out of that group, everybody got a little bit of a shine, I thought Cody was the guy who kind of got left out in the cold and I said, ‘let me help him out a little bit.’ Working with Cody definitely gave him that sense of, ‘I can do this.’ Him going out on his own, he proved he can do it. Big ups to Cody Rhodes.”

On the latest episode of “The Bump”, Shayna Baszler stated that the reason fans have been cheering her against Ronda Rousey is that she’s right about her.

Baszler and Rousey will battle each other at this year’s WWE SummerSlam. Baszler said,

“One thing I’ve always said about wrestling fans – sports fans in general – is they can smell when you’re faking the funk and all this is legit and real to me. I think they connect to stuff that’s real. You just cheer for who you like and it just happens to be me because the stuff I’m saying is real and the stuff I’m saying is the stuff fans have been saying ever since Ronda got signed.”
