Booker T – ‘Main Event Mafia Should Have Been As Big As DX/NWO’

The Main Event Mafia should have gone on to become as influential as D-Generation X or the NWO, Booker T has claimed.

The heel faction of main-event talent came together in 2008 and consisted of Booker, Sting, Kurt Angle, Scott Steiner, Samoa Joe, and Kevin Nash.

On the latest edition of “The Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker argued that the group could have gone on to accomplish more in TNA, now Impact Wrestling. He said,

“I really wanted something to happen with the Main Event Mafia. I really thought the Main Event Mafia was a group that was like none other. All of us, we were former World Heavyweight Champions, we all had a history with each other that ran back for years.

“I just don’t know why that thing did not work out. I just don’t know why the Main Event Mafia, right now, the t-shirts aren’t still being sold. Because that was a group … literally, a faction [like] nWo, D-X, something that people still should be talking about to this day.”

Booker isn’t the only MEM alum to be disappointed, with Kevin Nash claiming that TNA screwed things up and Angle saying the faction could have been the next NWO.
