The WWE contract of Bobby Lashley, the ex-Champion of the wrestling arena, is reported to be expiring shortly. News reports from Fightful Select suggest that Lashley’s contract timeline could fall within the coming month or even a few weeks.
Interestingly, Lashley’s name has been removed from the internal roster of WWE, although he continues to make his presence felt on the official website of the company.
It appears that Lashley has been inactive in the wrestling circle since early May, his last known fight being a WWE live event. It is suggested that Lashley intends to continue his wrestling pursuits if he is unable to agree on a contract extension with WWE.
It should be noted that Lashley has not had any significant creative involvement since the spring. During this period, his ‘The Pride’ faction was at odds with ‘The Final Testament’. The wrestler has made only five appearances on WWE programming since WrestleMania 40 (Night Two).
Lashley, who has previously dipped his toes in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), might consider returning to the combat sports sphere. At 48, Lashley has hinted at his interest in joining the MMA combat scene again.
