The winner of the 2023 Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, Bobby Lashley didn’t compete at WrestleMania 39 despite being booked for the show on the Road To WrestleMania.
Lashley was originally supposed to face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 39, however, Wyatt’s sudden physical issue forced WWE to shelve him and nix the match altogether.
While Lashley did issue an open challenge for WrestleMania, sadly no one answered his call. Lashley did get honored briefly for the battle royal win during WrestleMania 39 (Night Two), but that was more of a consolation prize for The All Mighty.
Taking to Twitter, Lashley stated that missing out on WrestleMania is “one of the toughest pills to swallow.” The former WWE Champion further revealed that his son texted him on Night One asking if he was going to compete at WrestleMania 39. Lashley capped off by noting that he needs to “work harder” and return to the “drawing board” despite lobbying for a match for weeks.
