Notably, the pro-wrestler known as Orange Cassidy recounted an occasion in which he was likened to Ryan Gosling, the celebrated Hollywood actor.
In conversation with Mojo Rawley for TMZ, Cassidy brought up an independent wrestling event in Texas where this comparison was made. He mentioned,
“I’ve got a little story to share. I was part of an independent wrestling event, probably in Texas somewhere, and the crowd was rather small. They weren’t familiar with me and weren’t particularly interested. As I made my way around the ring, one youngster quipped ‘Look at this guy. He’s like Ryan Gosling.’”
Cassidy went on to express, “That is the highest praise I could receive. Being told that I resemble Ryan Gosling, I appreciate that. I’m deeply grateful. When the Barbie film was released and Twitter was going crazy saying, ‘Check it out, it’s Orange Cassidy on the big screen.’ Yep, I wish I was seated next to Margot Robbie in that film. Include me in the sequel, perhaps.”
The esteemed wrestler Bobby Lashley disclosed that his primary motivation for signing with All Elite Wrestling was the opportunity to regroup with The Hurt Syndicate’s MVP and Shelton Benjamin.
In a discussion with Justin Barrasso on the “Undisputed” podcast, the Almighty One revealed his rationale behind joining AEW, his bond with MVP, and much more.
A few selected snippets from the podcast are mentioned below:
Discussing his decision to join AEW: “It was for The Hurt Syndicate, primarily. We were seeking a chance to make things happen with the group, and Tony Khan provided us this opportunity through AEW. We hadn’t been presented with a chance to truly show our potential earlier. Now we have that. The potential scope and ideas of what we can do in AEW keep me wide awake at night.”
About his partnership with MVP: “When we were teamed up in Impact, we didn’t know what to anticipate–but it just clicked. There is a special rapport. He’s a natural villain. He’s the mouthpiece, I’m the muscle. Going up against MVP on the mic and facing me in the ring is a formidable task for anyone in AEW. We are exactly what we claim to be. I’m a gentleman but I can also cause harm. MVP never minces his words. Occasionally, that lands him in hot water, but he’s genuine. He speaks his mind, and that warrants respect. If you can’t give that, you’ll have to face me.”
