On a recent episode of “The Lame Guys” podcast, past WWE Champion Bobby Lashley discussed the possibilities of joining AEW. He also talked about his previous onscreen manager, MVP, becoming a part of Tony Khan’s crew.
Below are some of the conversation’s highlights from the podcast:
Regarding AEW, Lashley joked, “You think they have enough money for me? MVP is great.” He continued by highlighting the role established stars like MVP play in helping foster new talent. He opined that with new signings like Daniel Bryan, Edge, and Christian, a new era of wrestling was being ushered in.
When questioned about Tony Khan’s work in AEW, Lashley stated, “What Tony Khan is doing, I’m still friends with MVP and I talk to him about going over there. I asked, ‘How is it over there?’.” People’s comments on their experiences was positive and it was good to see that stars were able to continue their careers at their own pace.
Lashley added that this wasn’t only for wrestlers with something left to prove but also paid off for those slightly past their prime. He highlighted how MVP was a testament to this fact. He mentioned that his return to TV with a powerful promo, and the impact he had on the show, was proof that there was still room for veterans to contribute and elevate others.
