Jimmy Jacobs recounts a time when Bobby Heenan told him he would not succeed in the world of professional wrestling.

During an appearance on the RJ City’s Hey! (EW) YouTube series, Jacobs, who was previously managed by Heenan on the independent circuit, recalled his interaction with him:

“I sought his advice after a performance. His response was, ‘Yeah. Find a job, buy some weed, enjoy life because you have no future in this industry.'”

Former WWE Director of VOD and Supervising Producer, John Carlan recently had a conversation with Conrad Thompson on the “Insiders” podcast. Here, he shared his experiences of working with Kevin Dunn and many more insights.

Here are a few noteworthy points from the talk:

Discussing his experience alongside Kevin Dunn, he said, “It was challenging. He maintained high standards. To be frank, there were times when I didn’t appreciate his approach. However, we shared a fair professional relation. We experienced some highs and lows. Post shows, we often had fun chilling together in a group, and he would join in. His work methodologies often differed from mine, which made it tough. Sometimes, policies he implemented did not sit well with the rest of us. Yet, he was in charge. We had to navigate our way through this every day. Although we didn’t work very closely, we did interact during on-road assignments. He was present during high-priority shoots and sometimes, we had fun during production meetings.”

Sharing a fun anecdote with Dunn, he elaborated, “Upon road return, KD would conduct a meeting with all the producers. He would summarize the week and there would be a Q&A session. Escaping from work mode, there were times when we had amusing encounters. KD is a huge Raiders fan while my loyalty lies with Patriots. Once, in the anticipation of the Tuck Rule game in 2001, I planned a prank with Stephanie McMahon who also attended these meetings. Being Patriots fans, we established a bond and plotted a playful moment during the meeting. I hid my Tom Brady jersey under my work clothes and as the meeting would end, I told Steph I would stand up, tear off my work shirt and say ‘We’ll see you this weekend.’ This little stunt had everyone in splits except KD, who threatened to fire me if Patriots won. Of course, it never happened, it was light-hearted banter. That was one fun exchange with him. Controversial as he is, some of the rumours about him are untrue but a lot are factually correct.”
