“I saw friends that I had not seen in forever. I was around Matt and Nick Jackson again. Those days in Japan, you’re on the road, you’re away from your family, and all you’ve got sometimes is each other. So those were guys that I saw more than my own family for a period of time.

“I think we did leave some money on the table. I think fans have always kinda clamored to see [some combination of The Undisputed Era]. My time there was brief, I only would agree to a year contract because — to be honest — he wasn’t giving me enough of his money. You gotta know your worth, right?”

While it was reported that Fish wanted Kyle O’Reilly & Adam Cole to leave AEW with him to return to WWE, Fish has always denied the notion.

Former AEW wrestler Bobby Fish recently expressed his satisfaction with his time in the company but also stated that he believes his run was not fully utilized to its maximum potential. In a conversation on the “Developmentally Speaking” podcast, Fish reflected on his tenure in AEW, which spanned from October 2021 to September 2022.

During his time in AEW, Fish had the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, such as Matt and Nick Jackson. He reminisced about their days in Japan, where they formed strong bonds due to the demanding nature of the wrestling industry. Fish mentioned that during those times, they often relied on each other for support and companionship, sometimes even more than their own families.

However, Fish also expressed his belief that there was untapped potential during his run in AEW. He acknowledged that fans had always desired to see some combination of The Undisputed Era, a popular faction he was a part of in WWE. Fish admitted that his time in AEW was brief because he only agreed to a one-year contract, as he felt he wasn’t being adequately compensated. He emphasized the importance of knowing one’s worth and making decisions accordingly.

It was previously reported that Fish wanted his former Undisputed Era stablemates, Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole, to leave AEW with him and return to WWE. However, Fish has consistently denied these claims.

Despite his departure from AEW, Fish remains an active figure in the wrestling community. He recently appeared on the “Bobby Fish S7 E9 (NXT)” episode, where he shared insights and experiences from his time in NXT. The episode provides fans with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Fish’s journey in professional wrestling.
