Bobby Cruise Signs New AEW/ROH Deal, Mike Bailey Talks Landing AEW Contract

Well-known ring announcer Bobby Cruise has inked a fresh deal with both All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH).

This piece of news was relayed by Cruise himself on his Twitter handle, revealing that his existing contract would’ve been rendered void this Sunday had he not signed a new one.

He penned, “My agreement with AEW/ROH was set to expire on Sunday. Luckily, I put pen to paper for a new one this week.

During a recent guest appearance on the podcast “The Takedown”, popular AEW star ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey recounted his formidable journey to AEW.

He nobly expressed that the desire of wrestling for a prominent promotion like AEW was a persistent goal for him.

Highlights from his appearance on the podcast are shared below:

Recalling his promotion of indie wrestling in mid-2000s: “I initiated my wrestling career in Quebec, the French-speaking side of Canada in 2005, before the advent of Facebook. Back then, advertising an independent professional wrestling show needed manual distribution of flyers pinned to public objects. This method of promotion was predominant at the time. For almost a decade, I wrestled in Canada, earning minuscule income, until I made my way to the United States and started working with major independent labels there, including PWG, which I believe has a direct correlation with All Elite Wrestling.”

Highlighting the significance of wrestling in the US: “My journey also involved wrestling for DDT, the same Japanese promotion that’s responsible for the rise of Kenny Omega. I attempted to follow in his footsteps, and that’s been the main objective throughout my career.”
