Blue Demon Jr. Stars In Potential Luchador Action-Comedy On Disney Channel
As reported in Deadline, Disney has given the go-ahead to start casting for Ultra Violet & Blue Demon, an action/comedy hybrid for their Disney Channel network staring the Lucha legend. In the show, a magical luchador mask chooses 13-year-old Violet as the successor of her uncle, famed Lucha headliner Blue Demon Jr. Episodes will find Violet dealing with coming-of-age while undergoing secret superhero training and keeping her identity under wraps.
Blue Demon Jr. will be starring in the show as himself, and casting is underway for the remaining parts. If a cast is found, the pilot will begin filming in LA in a few months. Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, the duo behind Detective Pikachu, are writing and producing the program.
