Bishop Dyer Received Death Threats For Hitting Becky Lynch With End Of Days

In a recent episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, ex-WWE Superstar Bishop Dyer, popularly known as Baron Corbin, spoke about a recent AEW Dynamite match where Swerve Strickland and Willow Nightingale emerged victorious over Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir.

Moxley landed the Death Rider on Nightingale post-match, whilst Swerve celebrated their victory.

Reflecting on this incident, Dyer was reminded of a memorable moment from his career when he delivered an End of Days to Becky Lynch at WWE Extreme Rules 2019 in Philadelphia. Dyer highlighted the range of crowd reactions to this move.

Dyer recalled, “Hitting Becky in Philly triggered one of the most intense reactions I’ve witnessed in my career. Initially, there was a shock-induced silence, which was quickly replaced by a deafening cheer because the audience couldn’t believe what they just saw. The cheers eventually transformed into deep-rooted boos. I had the unique experience of witnessing all three reactions unfold over one single incident.”

This isn’t Dyer’s first time commenting on the shocking spot with Lynch. In an interview conducted in 2023, he revealed that the idea was actually conceived by Vince McMahon.

To quote Dyer from that time, “The idea came from Vince. The news stunned me when I arrived at the venue. I knew that Philly would give the idea a wild reception. I couldn’t believe what Vince had proposed, but it was an insane experience. And the death threats that followed were actually worth it. My social media platforms were filled with threats. Some even threatened to stab me for what I did to Becky. They need to be arrested if they try to stab me, true. But the reaction proves the persuasive power of our craft. People were engrossed, believing every action is real. There was outrage because a grown man had attacked a woman. That outrage was exhilarating.”
