In a recent episode of “The Ariel Helwani Show”, former WWE Superstar, Bishop Dyer, also known by his stage name Baron Corbin, openly discussed his departure from the WWE and his ambitions to grow his brand to such an extent that if WWE were to approach him in the future, he could simply respond by saying, “stick it.”

Some key points from the interview can be found below:

Discussing whether he feels inspired by Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre’s post-WWE success, Dyer said, “Absolutely, but it’s a bit strange. I want to continually elevate myself and achieve greater fame, whether it’s in film, TV, or wrestling. I aim to make Bishop a brand, similar to how Baron Corbin is. As for jiu-jitsu, the film industry – I want to engage in everything.”

On expanding his brand, Dyer said, “They are all part of who I am, they are the brand that I’m selling. My goal is to grow this brand, raise my profile. Looking at Cody, the success he achieved after leaving – it’s remarkable. Also, sometimes it’s good to step back for a while. You leave, the public moves on, and when you return, it’s as if you’ve revitalised your career.”

Discussing his emotions post-departure, Dyer confessed, “I can’t deny, I felt anger. I was always reliable and executed my role well, leading to great reactions in the show. Even when partnering with Apollo Crews, there were instances where the crowd just wouldn’t stop chanting my name. This drove my anger, because I was gaining fantastic responses and amazing matches, and yet, I was let go. I had just reinvented myself.”

On using spite as motivation, he said, “I want to become more successful so that when they call me back, I can firmly tell them, ‘stick it.’ It’s my current motivation, to be able to say no to the largest company in the world. While it sounds crazy, I believe in it.”

Dyer also commented on Cody Rhodes’s dramatic act at AEW Double or Nothing: “During his first match with AEW, he smashed Hunter’s chair. Then, it was Hunter who wanted to bring him back. What a twist! That’s wrestling for you. Over time, all can be forgiven….Or maybe, I’ll be having so much fun with other companies that I won’t want to look back. I want to go to Japan, MLW, and make appearances at Maple Leaf Pro. We’ll see where this journey takes me.”
