In a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW wrestler, Billy Gunn, opened up about his 2012 return to WWE and mending fences with his D-Generation X comrade, Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

Gunn, who was honored with an induction into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2019 as a part of DX alongside Triple H and Brian “Road Dogg” James, spoke candidly about his past and his reunion with WWE.

Highlights from the podcast are included below:

Discussing his reconciliation with Triple H and WWE before his return, Billy Gunn acknowledged: “There was a ton of wreckage that I left in the wake, you know.”

Regarding his conversation with Triple H, he shared, “I happened to be doing an appearance in Chicago. WWE was also there at the time. I reached out to Hunter and asked, ‘Hey, do you mind if I stop by?’ He welcomed me with open arms. When I was let go previously, I went on a destructive spree, blaming everyone but myself.”

Gunn also commented on Triple H’s reaction to his apology, revealing: “He said, ‘You know, I never even thought twice about it.’”

Billy Gunn also spoke about his reappointment by WWE, stating: “Before anyone even knew it, I was rehired. Soon enough, they had me and Brian [James] back on tour. I was both coaching and scouting for new talent. [embedded content].”
