Bill Alfonso Recalls Encountering Alligators On The Road With Roddy Piper

Bill Alfonso made a recent guest appearance on Jake Roberts’ podcast, “The Snake Pit.” During the broadcast, Alfonso regaled listeners with stories of his Florida adventures involving alligators while on the road for work.

Highlighted excerpts from the podcast include:

On his experiences hitting alligators while travelling for CWF: “I am uncertain who was behind the wheel during these incidents, it was perhaps myself or another, but few times we ran over alligators. We used to zoom through Alligator Alley every Wednesday, piloting Cadillacs at scorching speed of about 90-100 miles per hour. Once we collided with a gator on road, it was as if we hydroplaned over the creature. I, being a local Floridian, wanted to take the knocked out gator home, but it was too large to fit in the Cadillac trunk unless folded like a donut. Though, mid-way through our journey back home, the alligator started thrashing about the trunk only to end it’s life later.”

“Another amusing incident involves Roddy Piper, Kevin Sullivan, Frank Dusek, and myself. It was Piper’s first time in the region, being a Canadian he had never encountered an alligator. Initially excited at the sight of alligators, he jokingly toyed with the idea of shooting a gator, only to have Dusek present him with a small snub-nose .38. Much to our surprise, the shot hit the mark and the gator started to float in the canal upside down. Sullivan then humorously suggested Piper to swim across the canal to retrieve the gator, himself committing to distract the other approaching alligators. The hilarity ensued when the presumed dead alligator sprung back to life chasing Piper halfway through his back swim, and his panicked retreat was truly a sight.’

Speaking about Kevin Sullivan: “Sullivan’s run here in Florida state is quite memorable, given his gimmick shift from a regular guy to devilish figure. Even Jake embraced his darker side after aligning with him. He changed from being a young, handsome figure who was adored by the women, to a shady character. Despite everything and his striking transformation, he remained a great man. His journey was nothing short of spectacular.”
