During the waning moments of December 2024, fans of The New Day, were left stunned as Big E was betrayed by his comrades Kingston and Woods, marking the end of a decade-long alliance. However, it seems Big E harbors no ill feelings towards his erstwhile partners.

In a recent interaction with the popular wrestling podcast “X-Pod 97,” Big E delved into why Kingston and Woods’ unexpected shift in alignment was somewhat necessary from his perspective. He imparted,

“In this industry you have to evolve. I’m really proud of what we’ve built, as a unit… but presently, for better or for worse, the wrestling sphere cannot stop discussing the transformation of those two.”

Regardless of being on the receiving end of such a drastic pivot in personality, Big E viewed the incident more as a memorable moment in his career rather than a betrayal. He followed up by saying “I can’t recollect any other reversal of roles that unfolded as it did.”

Post their transformation into antagonists, Woods and Kingston have faced some of the most vehement disapproval from the audience during WWE broadcasts, underscoring the success of their transformation into villains.

Big E, meanwhile, has been off the wrestling mats since March 2022. Despite his physical absence from the ring, he has maintained a presence on screen, often seen as a commentator during pre-shows and post-shows for pay-per-view events.
