In Spring of 2022, Big E, a former World Heavyweight Champion, experienced a severe injury, breaking his neck during an episode of WWE SmackDown. Subsequently, he had been compelled to withdraw from the ring, pausing his career in the process.

In a conversation with Dylan Bowker, Big E sheds light on his current health conditions and reassures his fans that he is recuperating well. Here are his words,

“I’m in high spirits and feel wonderful. It’s now been a little over three years since the accident on March 11th, 2022. My neck hasn’t completely healed, with the last scan showing that the C1 vertebrae, the place where it broke, isn’t forming new bone. However, there is cartilage growth there. Thankfully, I’m not experiencing any discomfort or mobility limitations.”

He also stated, “Our medical team includes someone who endured a similar experience, a neck fracture, while playing softball 20 years prior. Unluckily, she still suffers from incessant headaches. But thankfully for me, I’m relieved from these complications. No recurrent headaches or muscle atrophy. And fortunately, I managed to avoid undergoing any surgical procedures.”

Even though Big E feels fit and ready, his return to the ring is still shrouded in uncertainty. Now, he is more thoughtful about his future life. In his words,

“I can’t be more thankful to the divine being, to karma, or to the universal laws, whatever force is responsible for giving us existence on this planet. I appreciate being able to lead a healthy, regular life.”

He further added, “I haven’t entirely given up yet, but nothing is certain at this moment. Considering I’m 39 now, I initially stepped into wrestling with a bunch of injuries. So, it’s more about deciding if I want to ensure my future well-being. Turning 50 is just 11 years away for me.”

While nursing his injury, Big E has maintained his association with WWE, contributing to pre and post shows for pay-per-view programs as a commentator.

Then, there’s a YouTube video of Big E discussing various topics including Jones vs. Aspinall, Cody vs. Cena, TKO Boxing, and more.
