Big Bill is inching towards his fifth year of living sober, and he recently opened up about his experiences with alcohol addiction and the rediscovery of life through sobriety in Barstool’s “Rasslin” podcast.
In the podcast, here are some key highlights:
Discussing his journey with sobriety, Big Bill said, “I’ve been quite transparent in sharing my struggles. My battle with alcoholism was horrific, and I am now marking four years of sobriety, set to reach five years towards the Super Bowl of the following year. It’s been an incredible journey, indeed.”
When referring to his “second chance” in life through sobriety, he said, “My career has seen highs and lows, and currently, I am certainly on a higher wave. I feel as if I have been given a new lease on life. Not just in wrestling, but a fresh start in life as a whole. I have a wonderful life, set to marry my fiance this December, I love her family, we have our dogs. It felt like my life was hanging by a thread at one point, but now, I have another shot at living. I thus feel a strong need to give my 100% in everything I do. In my profession, the idea is not to complain but to work diligently, comply with instructions, and the efforts will eventually reap rewards.”
