Saturday night at the WWE SummerSlam 2023 pay-per-view event, an injured Bianca Belair fought the odds and overcame Charlotte Flair and Asuka to win the WWE Women’s Championship. The finish of the match saw Asuka mist Charlotte while she had Belair in the Figure 8 Leglock. Belair, however, stole a roll-up in short order to win the title.
Following the match, IYO SKY rushed to the ring and cashed in her Money in the Bank contract, quickly pinning the “EST” to become the new WWE Women’s Champion. Bayley and a returning Dakota Kai appeared thereafter to celebrate with Sky. Kai has of course been nursing an ACL injury over the past few months.
