The SmackDown Women’s Championship was retired last night on WWE RAW and reigning champion Rhea Ripley received the new WWE Women’s World Championship.

This past week on SmackDown, Asuka was given the WWE Women’s Championship, in the wake of WWE’s plans to retire and rebrand the SmackDown Women’s Title and RAW Women’s Title.

Longest reigning RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair took to Twitter to express how much the now-defunct title meant to her. She wrote,

“That RAW Women’s Title means SO much to me. The journey was full of blood, sweat, tears, black eyes/stitches, hardwork/grind, sacrifice, exhaustion, but MOSTLY PRIDE & JOY that led me to be the Longest Reigning RAW Women’s Champion. I am so grateful to be a part of this history!”

Belair held the RAW Women’s Title for a record 420 days before losing it to Asuka at WWE Night of Champions 2023 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
