Renowned wrestler CM Punk, who went into a brief hiatus due to a triceps injury suffered during the Men’s Royal Rumble match in January, is expected to mark his return by SummerSlam.
Punk has been embroiled in a feud with Drew McIntyre during his recuperation period. In the significant Clash at the Castle event, Punk effectively sabotaged McIntyre’s chances at obtaining the World Heavyweight Title against Damian Priest, with a disruptive low blow after interrupting a pin attempt.
The wrestling rumor mill, WrestleVotes, conveyed the news today that Punk is on track to be back in time for SummerSlam.
In their words, “As per the RAW roster sheet from the last week, it was indicated that the phenom, CM Punk, might be gearing back to the ring by the end of July. Although he’s not expected to get clearance by MITB on 7/6, indications are strong of him being match-ready by SummerSlam on 8/3.”
WrestleVotes disseminated the news through their tweet dated June 17, 2024:
As of last week’s RAW roster sheet, CM Punk’s official return date was set for the end of July. I’m told he likely won’t be cleared for action by MITB on 7/6, but he should be ready for SummerSlam on 8/3.
