Fightful recently shed light on behind-the-scenes preparations for the Casino Gauntlet Match, featured on the latest episode of AEW Dynamite.
Tony Khan, the President of AEW, took the reins in strategizing and coaching the match. He was assisted by QT Marshall, Colt Cabana, and Serpentico to ensure smooth execution of the event.
Khan initially brainstormed the idea for the match in Jacksonville. The feedback received from the AEW staff suggested they were satisfied with how the match turned out.
Ex WWE/AEW star Lio Rush, made a surprise appearance in the Casino Gauntlet Match, occupying the #7 slot. Rush’s participation in the event was planned a week prior to the match.
Will Ospreay, the newly inaugurated AEW International Champion, emerged victorious from the bout. This victory secured him an opportunity to contest against AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland for the title. The match is part of the highly anticipated AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024 pay-per-view event, set to take place on June 30 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
