Below are some behind-the-scenes insights from the recent broadcast of AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts on TBS:
Originally, Eddie Kingston was slated to participate in the Blood & Guts match opposing Team AEW and The Elite. However, due to an unforeseen injury, he was unable to compete. Insiders maintain however, it was always considered that Team AEW would be tagged winners under any circumstances.
Beloved wrestling figure, Dean Malenko, lent his voiceover talents to the pre-main event video sequence. Following his surgery last year brought about by Parkinson’s disease, Malenko has made a strong comeback and has been dubbed a “new man”. His upbeat demeanor and his humor is highly appreciated among the AEW backstage crew.
The details regarding Kamille’s first appearance were purposely kept confidential. Kamille inked her contract with AEW back in February and she has been financially taken care of since then. Her brief appearance backstage in January set in motion her contract discussions and ultimate onboarding. Prior to her debut, details including graphic design and related elements were carefully curated for some time.
Lastly, AEW had an impressive win of a different kind – they broke their own record for ticket sales from their last appearance in Nashville for Dynamite.
