Recently, it was reported through eWrestlingNews that Britt Baker found herself facing suspension and fines from AEW’s disciplinary committee. The decision came after a behind-the-scenes incident involving MJF and his partner, Alicia Atout.
During the airing of AEW Dynamite on July 17th, uproar followed inappropriate comments from Baker directed at MJF and Atout in the women’s dressing area. This sparked a series of volatile interactions involving all three parties. Later, Will Ospreay also involved himself in the dispute by addressing Baker.
Unexpectedly, the situation took a serious turn when MJF, in a fit of anger, struck a wall backstage. Baker maintained her appearances on the show despite an HR investigation into the matter leading to a temporary suspension.
According to Fightful Select, in a controversial step, MJF went as far as entering the women’s locker room to address the issue personally. This action raised eyebrows and was scrutinized during the investigative process.
Differing views notwithstanding, the investigation involved several witness interviews and concluded with the decision to suspend Baker, but MJF was spared any disciplinary action. This disparity in measures has sparked debate on the consistency and fairness of AEW’s disciplinary protocol.
As for AEW President Tony Khan’s role in the investigation, it remains a mystery. All attempts were made to keep the matter under wraps.
