As speculation has abounded recently regarding the future of WWE NXT Level Up, credible sources report that the show’s termination isn’t yet on the table. Even in the midst of these rumors, there are a plethora of matches intended for upcoming installments. Insiders opine that summarily pulling the plug on Level Up could be unwise since it offers budding professionals their much-needed television exposure.
On a different note, Ken Shamrock, former WWE talent, recently graced the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast. Here he unpacked the reason behind his exit from WWE back in 1999, which interestingly revolved around his reluctance to spar with fellow wrestling star,Chyna.
Recounting his decision, he stated, “I found myself in a position where I didn’t want to wrestle with Chyna. Given that I had always nurtured my children, particularly my boys who were rather young during that period, to respect women and never resort to physical violence against them. Although I do realize that our world of WWE is centered around entertainment, my family values always come first. So, I denied any engagement that could possibly, even if it may not directly, deliver a confusing message to them. My departure wasn’t a result of WWE cornering me; rather, my conscious decision to stand up for what I believed in, even if it meant treading a path with an uncertain end. While I took a few blows for my decision, rest assured, there was no residual bitterness.”
