Becky Lynch says nothing’s changed since Ronda Rousey was last in a WWE ring, so she should re-consider entertaining a comeback.
Becky Lynch spoke with TMZ to promote Friday’s “supersized” episode of SmackDown and was asked what she’d tell Rousey about coming back to WWE.
“Don’t, because I’m still on top, Ronda. You won’t like it. That’s my advice,” Lynch said.
Lynch, who took time off last year to have her first child, said it’s been crazy returning to work and still juggling her responsibilities as a parent.
“It went from zero to 100 real quick, you know? Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half, it’s been wild, but it’s been amazing,” Lynch said. “And, my baby comes along everywhere with me.”
Asked if she thinks it sends a powerful message to see her as a mom and an athlete, Lynch said she hopes that’s what people see. “I hope so. I wasn’t sure how well it could be done, but it turns out that it can be done very well… if you’re ‘The Man,’” Lynch stated.
Lynch recently told Ryan Satin on the Out of Character podcast that although we haven’t seen Rousey in a WWE ring since WrestleMania 35, she still believes they’ll have a one-on-one match in the future.
“I do think [the match will happen]. The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great, she’ll probably want to one-up me and she’ll try to come back in three months,” Lynch told Satin. “I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda.”
Becky Lynch will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Crown Jewel against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks. You can read the updated event card for Crown Jewel at this link.
