Mo Chatra of Mirror Online recently interviewed WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The man discussed several topics, including her WrestleMania match with Shayna Baszler, her thoughts on NXT’s top talent, the Boneyard Match and more. First, Lynch described what it’s like wrestling without an audience. Per Chatra, she said that, though it’s odd, she still has to do her job. “It’s better with the fans there, no question,” said Lynch via Chatra. “At the end of the day, I have a job to do, and that’s to have the best match I possibly can, so if that’s for 10 people, or millions of fans watching at home, that is the job.”
Then, Lynch reflected on her match with Baszler. The Man said she’s pleased with the match and she also praised Baszler. “I’m very proud of the match; very proud,” said Lynch via Chatra. “I enjoyed fighting her – she is as tough as hell. Maybe we’ll do it again.”
Lynch also shared her feelings on the Boneyard Match. Per Chatra, Lynch said the inventive bout could change wrestling itself. “To think of different ways for how we can do this and to be more creative,” said Lynch via Chatra. “That’s what that match did. It proved it’s value. It was awesome – it was so entertaining.”
The Man also discussed intergender wrestling and shared her fairly ambivalent stance on it. “I don’t think it’s necessary that guys and girls have to fight each other,” said Lynch via Chatra. “It’s cool if it happens. It’s cool if it doesn’t happen. I think it’s fine that we have our own leagues, like other sports, where they don’t generally intertwine. But it is wrestling, and we could do what we want with that, but it’s not something that we have to shoot for or not shoot for. If it happens, it happens, but if not, then that’s fine.”
