On April 11, 2025’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown, a significant series of back-to-back matches took place, involving six WWE Superstars’ teams. The exciting battle was arranged to establish the foremost contenders for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.
Given the limited slots remaining on the prestigious WWE WrestleMania 41 card, the significance of this match was enormous. It served as virtually the final shot at getting a place on the women’s division lineup.
The intense competition kicked off with a faceoff between the team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and the Pure Fusion Collective, comprised of Shayna Baszler & Zoey Stark. Emerging victorious was the team of the current women’s intercontinental champion and her most recent rival. They then proceeded to eliminate each subsequent team.
Then the team of Maxxine Dupri and Natalya was ousted, followed by the duo of Katana Chance & Kayden Carter, and then B-Fab and Michin. The Secret Hervice duo, Alba Fyre & Piper Niven, also fell short. Bayley and Valkyria managed to clinch a victory, earning themselves the title shot.
This victory signifies Valkyria’s spot on the card, though she won’t be defending her Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Chelsea Green and the Women’s United States Championship also find themselves in a similar situation with no set match, unless a surprise announcement is made.
The blue brand’s WWE Tag Team Championship titles also seem to be missing from the lineup this year. It seems a bit of bias against the SmackDown’s titles is in play this year.
Given these developments, the currently set card for WrestleMania 41, pending at least one forthcoming change later tonight, is as follows:

- World Heavyweight Championship Match: Gunther (c) vs. Jey Uso
- WWE Women’s Championship Match: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
- Women’s World Championship Match: Iyo Sky (c) vs. Bianca Belair
- Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. John Cena
