Bar Wrestling Claims They Are ‘Strongly Considering’ A Return Once Restrictions Are Lifted

Don’t call it a comeback, but Bar Wrestling hasn’t “closed up shop” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Monday, a post on the promotion’s Twitter account teased that it could return at some point:

“There’s a false narrative going around that we’ve closed up shop. We’ve never declared that and are strongly considering a return as pandemic restrictions are lifted.”

Along with the message, the tweet includes a link to the song, “Rumors Of My Demise Have Been Greatly Exaggerated” by Rise Against.

The promotion’s Twitter account had been mostly inactive since September 2020. Likewise, Bar Wrestling’s YouTube channel was terminated last March due to multiple claims of copyright infringement.

Bar Wrestling reportedly shut down last June after allegations against promoter Joey Ryan became public during the Speaking Out Movement. Several months later, Ryan continues to make headlines; he recently claimed that he’s not trying to return to wrestling, so it’s fair to wonder what the future holds for Bar Wrestling.
