Backstage Update On WWE Nixing Original Plans For Opening Segment Of RAW
– ADVERTISMENT –

As previously reported, Seth Rollins was slated to host an open challenge for his WWE World Heavyweight Title in the opening segment on Monday’s episode of RAW.

Vince McMahon reportedly made changes to the show, including this segment with Rollins being laid out by Finn Balor, who is slated to challenge Rollins for the title at Money in the Bank on July 1st, instead.

Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that McMahon felt the upcoming match between Balor and Rollins needed more heat and a better build so that’s why Balor attacked him.

Fightful Select reported today that while it’s unclear who would’ve answered the open challenge, Johnny Gargano, who was at the show, wasn’t the opponent.
